No matter who you are or what you’re going through, you deserve the opportunity to express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions without any fear of judgment. This, in short, is my philosophy when it comes to therapy.
As a therapist, I aim to create a safe space for you to express yourself. No matter where you are in life or what obstacles you need to overcome, I am here to help you. Let’s face it, committing to therapy can sometimes be scary. It’s important to remember that you’re making the best decision to help yourself by improving your mental wellbeing. As your therapist, I will help you navigate this process in a way that’s most comfortable for you.
Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your child, I am honored to have the privilege of taking this step with you.
My Unique Approach to Therapy
I have always been interested in learning more about people and human behavior. Learning how our minds work and why we act the way we do fascinates me. This fascination led me to become a therapist. I love being able to help people understand their feelings and actions. I achieve this by being understanding, empathetic, and empowering.
For as long as I can remember, people have always told me that my presence is calming and inviting. I utilize this attribute when working with patients. I offer a soothing and nurturing environment. I like therapy sessions to allow people to let their feelings out without any pressure. I go at your pace and take it step by step with you. Having this be a collaborative experience is essential. For me, that means valuing open communication and making sure that your wants and needs for therapy are being met.
Specialized & Extended Training
My educational background gives me a strong foundation. I started my education at Wayne State University obtaining my Bachelor of Social Work. I then went on and completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan.
I have prior experience working with women and children who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. I also have experience working with elementary school-aged children. I’ve worked with kids who were diagnosed with ADHD and children on the autism spectrum. Additionally, I helped kids work on impulse control, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and self-esteem building.
All Start My Wellness therapists attend at least 120 hours of extensive ongoing training and personal development each year on treating a range of mental health concerns. This rigorous instruction allows us to provide patients with the highest quality of service.
