Despite my love of being a nurse, I saw a more significant role I could play within the healthcare community and decided to pursue my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at Michigan State University. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I can now have a larger impact on people’s lives by working closely with my patients to identify and achieve their treatment goals. I believe that mental health is vital for overall well-being from childhood through adulthood and specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Bipolar Disorder, Type 2. To date, I’ve found the most success working with teenagers and adults.

My Unique Approach to Therapy
In my opinion, medication management is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to overall mental health. Educating patients regarding diet, exercise, and sleep routines is part of every visit. This approach is used to enhance a client’s overall well-being, not just one component.
I take a patient-centered approach to therapy and regularly ask for feedback from my patients. Common questions I ask are:
- How is the treatment going?
- Are we addressing issues you care about?
- Do you feel you are making measurable progress?
Additionally, I educate patients about their diet, exercise, and sleep routines to enhance overall wellness. My kind, compassionate, and empathetic personality influences my practice, and I am passionate about seeing my patients flourish and improve their overall health.
Specialized & Extended Training
My high level of education and experience, along with my rigorous ongoing training and personal development, differentiates me from others in my field and enables me to create a warm and welcoming environment where patients can feel safe and comfortable expressing their challenges.
All Start My Wellness therapists attend at least 120 hours of extensive ongoing training and personal development each year on treating a range of mental health concerns. This rigorous instruction allows us to provide patients with the highest quality of service.
