As a therapist, my aim is to enable and encourage my clients to bring their whole, complicated selves into the room; I do this by regarding every client with warmth, compassion, and empathy. Any progress made in the therapy room starts there. My clinical approach is based on the principle that you are the expert on you; my role is to be your collaborator in addressing the difficulties you face, based on my training in a variety of evidence-based practices. The process of healing and growth often includes identifying and challenging the systems and stories that shape our lives; I support that process with respect and affirmation for each client’s lived experience. Over time, we develop a relationship that supports your growth, change, and healing.
My Unique Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me moves at your pace, based on your goals, in alignment with what you value. As therapy continues, I frequently check in with clients on their progress and how they feel our work is going; this allows for my clients to advocate for themselves, change or refine their therapeutic goals, and reflect on how far they have come.
Specialized & Extended Training
I earned my MA in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology and completed my clinical practicum at a community mental health clinic. My graduate research focused on perinatal loss, ADHD in adult women, and effective psychotherapy for older adults. I am currently pursuing certification in the Gottman Method for couples therapy and AASECT certification for sex therapy.
