About Me: Qandeel Minal

Hello and welcome! My name is Qandeel Minal, and I’m currently in my sixth year of completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at the Michigan School of Psychology. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the same institution, as well as a Master of Science from Oakland University. My passion for psychology and therapy runs deep, and I’m truly honored to be part of your journey.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I love exploring used bookstores, cooking new recipes, and staying active through hiking and exercise. Traveling is another one of my passions! I also love to catch up on the latest movies and TV shows. Ask me about any form of media, and I am more than happy to discuss it with you!

My Unique Approach to Therapy

I have a special interest in trauma, multicultural identity and challenges, substance use, attachment, relationships, and identity development—though I truly enjoy working with people across all walks of life. My approach to therapy is integrative; I primarily draw from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) frameworks, while also bringing in humanistic values such as empathy, collaboration, and authenticity.

I believe that therapy is a shared experience—where healing and growth happen through connection, trust, and open communication. What sets me apart is my commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and genuinely welcoming space where your feelings are respected, your experiences are validated, and your goals are within reach. I’m dedicated to ongoing learning, and I receive consistent training and supervision to best meet your needs.

Specialized & Extended Training

Throughout my clinical training, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including an autism clinic, private practice, a college counseling center, and community mental health. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns.

I’m looking forward to working with you and walking alongside you on your path toward insight, healing, and growth.
