I am a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, with extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of challenges in different settings. I have experience providing individual psychotherapy to address a range of mental health concerns as well as challenges in living, including anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, relational challenges, and family system concerns, life transitions, as well as many others. My experience includes work with both adults and adolescents.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Michigan State University and my Master’s in Social Work, specializing in interpersonal practice mental health, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have specialized post-graduate training through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
My Unique Approach to Therapy
My primary orientation to therapy is psychodynamic. Whatever the challenges, people need the opportunity to be listened to and understood. When people understand themselves better, they live better. Understanding ourselves better sometimes requires the presence of an understanding and supportive other. My role is to help you develop a shared understanding of your relationships, adjustment challenges, and your inner life to work through them in a safe and collaborative environment.
Specialized & Extended Training
I have completed three years of Post-Graduate advanced training in relational and psychodynamic therapy at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
All Start My Wellness therapists attend at least 120 hours of extensive ongoing training and personal development each year on treating a range of mental health concerns. This rigorous instruction allows us to provide patients with the highest quality of service.
