About Laila Marashi
Laila Marashi earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Michigan State University and is currently a doctoral candidate at MSU. She is dual certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in pediatrics and expanded her scope of practice to treat patients throughout their lifespan. Laila has experience working in a wide variety of clinical settings and enjoys the personal approach that an outpatient setting affords her.
She specializes in pediatric, adolescent, and adult psychiatry across diverse diagnoses. She works closely with her patients’ and their families to develop individualized treatment plans specific to their medical and psychiatric needs. Her treatment approach is holistic, and patient centered.
When appropriate, Laila believes that medication treatment in mental health is just one piece in the puzzle of achieving optimal wellbeing and enjoys working collaboratively with other members of the care team to achieve this goal.
Unique Approach to Therapy
Connecting with each client is a vital part of my practice, unlike some providers in mental health, I view each person as important and not just “a number“. I find that checking in regularly with clients about their goals and current satisfaction helps foster a trusting client/provider relationship focused on individual growth. Also, I find it important to work with each person in identifying any barriers that may be present which could hinder therapy and medication from “doing their job“. I firmly believe that positive mental health and well-being does not happen in “a vacuum”, but many factors affect this, therefore a holistic approach is required to achieve lasting results.
Specialized & Extended Training
What makes Laila Marashi stand out is her high level of education and experience. She, along with all Start My Wellness therapists, attends at least 120 hours of extensive ongoing training and personal development per year in treating anxiety, depression, work stress, and relationship problems. This rigorous instruction differentiates Laila from others in the field and allows her to provide the highest quality of service to patients.
